Olive Oil is used a lot in cooking because of its health benefits, but did you know the it can be used in beauty care as well? Legend has it that the Egyptian queen Cleopatra applies Olive Oil to her whole body, giving her supple skin and beautiful hair. Even the all conquering Julius Caesar was smitten by her beauty. That was history, but you can use Olive Oil for beauty care in the modern world too.
Skin care
After a face wash, coat your facial skin surface with Olive Oil and gently massage the face allowing the Olive Oil to be fully absorbed. This can remove dirt within the pores that are invisible to the eyes. It also increases luster and elasticity of the skin, nourishes the skin and removes fine wrinkles.
Olive Oil on hair
After shampooing, rinse your hair in a basin of water with a small amount of Olive Oil added, allowing the Olive Oil to be spread evenly in your hair. Or drop a few drops of Olive Oil in your palm and gently massage into your hair. This makes the hair shiny and beautiful, and prevents brown and forked hair.
Olive Oil contains vitamins B and E. Apply appropriate amounts of Olive Oil on your hair, gently massage to allow the hair to fully absorb the nutrients, then wrap with a towel for one hour. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo after that, and you will be able to have shiny and supple hair. This also prevents hair loss, oily hair, dandruff, dry hair and split ends.
