THREE REASONS TO GET MOVING IN 2020

Exercise helps prevent depression :
Researches have assured that being active reduces the chance of being depressed, even in a person who is genetically predisposed to the depressive disorders. After noticing carefully and scientifically about 8,000 adult individuals, researchers discovered all types of activity, from energetic aerobic classes to soft yoga, cut down the risk of depressive disorders by 17% for every four hours of activity added each week – that’s just an extra 35 minutes a day.

It's good for your memory :
When a small group of adult individuals who are inactive aged 60 and more started to do high intensity interval training (HIIT) about three times a week, Scientists found out that their memory had been better along with their physical fitness levels, it lead to a 30% amelioration after 12 weeks. HIIT workouts aren’t the apparent choice for the elderly, especially if you’re not used to robust and energetic exercise, so it’s important for your health to work out to ameliorate your current fitness levels. And always call your GP first before entering any fitness program.

It helps keep your heart healthy:
research published in the European Heart Journal also that once we reach 60 we should do more, not less exercise to prevent heart disease and stroke. In a survey of more than 1.1 million elderly adults, those who moved radically from a sedentary lifestyle to exercising three to four times a week over two years made their risk of heart disease low by 11%.
On the other hand, those who changed their lifestyle from physical activity three to five times a week to being sedentary made their risk of heart problems high by 16%.
JOIN IN THE NEW BLEND TREND
As we’re always on the lookout for practical everyday healthy eating suggestions, a new concept from The Mushroom Bureau caught our eye. Known as The Blend, it’s simply about replacing some or all of the meat in a dish with diced mushrooms (choose vitamin D enriched varieties for an extra nutrition boost). Done regularly, replacing meat with veg will benefit your health and the planet. Blending works with any vegetable, but according to The Food Medic, Dr Hazel Wallace, who is supporting the Bring on The Blend campaign, mushrooms are a particularly good stand-in for meat as they offer a savoury, umami flavour and similar texture. ‘Mushrooms blended in a food processor make
the perfect substitute for minced meat,’ says Hazel. ‘You can do half meat and half mushroom in all your favourite minced meat dishes, such as spaghetti bolognese (Sauce containing beef, onions, tomato paste, herbs and sometimes other ingredients), shepherd’s pie or chilli.’ Find blended recipes at justaddmushrooms.com.
THIS YEAR’S HEALTHY KITCHEN HERO According to Lakeland, the microwave oven is the kitchen gadget we all love the most, followed by our coffee machine and slow cooker. But following on from last year’s rugby world cup in Japan and the 2020 Olympics being hosted by Tokyo, Japanese food is about to start trending. Cue the rise of the sushi maker! Oh! We love the World of Flavours.
